If you and your kids have your sights set on soaring to new heights, the Camp Dearborn Zip Line is sure to deliver plenty of excitement – not to mention scenic views of this natural gem of metro Detroit.

As of 2018, this destination joins the list of fantastic places to go zip lining in Michigan, alongside favorites like the TreeRunner Adventure Park West Bloomfield zip line. Not only that, but it also boasts being the longest zip line in the state.

Thrills and views

Head to Camp Dearborn, which is owned by the city of Dearborn but located about 35 miles northwest in Milford in Oakland County, to experience gliding 1,400 feet over a lake at speeds of up to 35 miles an hour.

“This new adventure will offer great thrills and breathtaking panoramic views of the camp,” says camp manager Jason Spiller.

With this zip line, visitors start out on a six-story tower situated on Elm Circle. You’ll then set sail over Lake #1 and down to the Camp Dearborn’s Main Beach.

All along, kids, teens and parents are safely and securely harnessed and fitted with helmets. A guide is onsite to introduce techniques and ensure attendees have an exciting and safe time.
